Latest Developments in Wave Energy at Lancaster

This paper describes current Lancaster proposals for off-shore wave-power. It is presented with hindsight as a rational process, whereas in fact our approach has been tortuous. The actual development is described in another paper [1] which describes both our major changes in direction and the crucial design studies, here called 'insightdeveloping studies', which led to those changes. Here we substitute hindsight for insight as if we had known all along which way to go, and had proceeded directly to the device we call P.S.FROG. FROG is just a name that appealed, but for anyone who likes acronyms, it stands for French's reactionless oceanic generator. The P.S. stands for pitching and surging, or if you prefer, for postscript, since it was an afterthought to its predecessor, FROG, which worked in heave.
